BBDEVNETWORK is offline?

Hi All - I notices links to BBDEVNetwork don't work anymore. There was a lot of good information/sample code in there. Does anyone know what happened?

Looks like you are right. On Friday, February 19, 2021, I referenced an old post in a conversation here.

I know it was up at that time. By Monday, February 22, it was down. So it looks like it went down over the weekend.

I hope they bring it back up, even if it does stay in read-only mode.

In the meantime, I had luck finding an article on the wayback machine.

Crystal Bruce‍ can you give us any insight?

It is no longer available, Joseph Styons‍ I did confirm. I'm not sure about the read-only mode, still looking into that!

Any information yet on when the material in the old devnetwork might be available again? I just found a message in the forums with a link to and old devnetwork article on my current issue involving extending collection fields. There's a lot of fairly important information in there so the sooner BB can get it back online the better.

Hi Ray,

Yes, I've asked about that specific blog and if they can post it here in Community. The rest is a bit more complicated as it would involve a migration of content from one platform to this one. I don't have solid answers on that, but I think getting at least the blog mentioned is reasonable. Will update as soon as I hear more!

Update: It looks like it would take a long time to migrate all the content over, so I am now looking at the option of bringing key content pieces over.

What are some key resources you'd like to see here from there?

Here were a few from my bookmarks that I've saved. Basically the ones with the sample code is what I found useful from bbdevnetwork. I also remember the tutorials from Trip Ott and others being especially helpful.

Very disappointed that such a useful resource has been taken down without any notice and with no thought to migrate the content anywhere else. Please can you do all that you can to put this back up ASAP!

Thanks for asking about key content pieces. The problem is that the resource was so vast, it's impossible for me to specify specific content. I would always just search for info when needed. This is a loss of a great resource, much of which is not in the BB Community or BB KB.

Update to this:

The team was not able to port over old forums from bbdevnetwork.com, but they did put together a txt file with all of the old website's blogs. You can search for key terms using control-F to find information.

Hi Lester Porter‍ - from what I understand, the forums were taken down due to a security issue. The team discussed moving the forums here to Community, but the cost was too high for the migration and it would be a very heavy manual process to bring them over one at a time, so the decision to put the blogs on one big file and upload it here was made. I can continue to discuss options for the forums with the team, but at this time, there has been no decision to bring those back online or migrate them to Community.
