Recently, I heard the story of an autistic child having a meltdown, and instead of walking by or ignoring this child, an onlooker laid on the ground with the child until they calmed down.


I've come across the kindness of strangers in many ways.

    My favorite type of kindness from strangers is a smile.


    A time where strangers went out of their way to help me was when I was traveling in China, a couple thought nothing of inviting my friends and I back to their home for lunch. It was a true gift to feel like family in another country.

    In our part of the country, if your tire goes flat on the highway, there's always a couple farmers or passerby who stop to help you jack your car up. I've been the recipient a couple of times!

    I had surgery and now have to use a walker. Some people are very courteous and open a door for me. I greatly appreciate the people that do that!
