BBMS Merchant Services
Is there anyone who uses BBMS with eTapestry that could give me some insight into how effective it is for you organization? At my organization we have multiple different revenue streams and I worry that BBMS cannot accommodate to everything we need. I was told that BBMS only shows payments that were made but not what they were for so I would have to pull reports out of eTapestry in order to reconcile every month but I would also need to know information that is in BBMS like the card type.

the disbursement detail reports that come out weekly (or daily if you're on that setting) show the source (batch vs. card swiped, etc.), transaction date, account type (Visa, MC, etc.) account holder (name), account number (just last 4 show), gross amount, fees (that are subtracted), and net amount.
There is more detail if you need it that can be looked up individually. There's a portal that you'd have access to, or someone would if not you. Also, cards can be charged directly inside the portal if needed.
Just like any cc processor, they have no idea what we're charging the cards for, so they can't tell us that information. In order to give my finance people what they need to book the gifts, because they do it from the reports, I have a query that I run that shows me those gifts made online. Now, I use Raiser's Edge, but I remember eTapestry having some great reporting capabilities, so I think you'd be able to set that up just as well, if not perhaps even better. If the gift processing works for eTap like it does for RE, you'll have a gift limbo that you'll go to where you can pull those gifts through to the constituent record. If your forms have any coding on the back end that comes through into a custom field, that'll help tell you which channel it came through.1 -
Thank you for the reply Heather. One other question, does BBMS create a constituent account in the CRM based on what the card holder enters?1

@Julia Wojnar yes, it will create an account or match up the account to record the transaction. @Heather MacKenzie, you are correct in all you listed with eTap. Just like RE.

Yep, ditto what Karen says - as you are processing the gift in the “limbo” area I mentioned, it will create a new record if needed or link to an already existing record.
