Justgiving/NXT Integration issues - No Consent Category

Good afternoon house,

I have just configured JustGiving integration for NXT at my organisation. For the most part, the process was seamless until I discovered that the integration does not pull through Consent Category which is needed to trigger consent mapping for incoming preferences.

There does not seem to be a fix for this at the moment which undermines its usefulness. Has anyone been able to overcome this problem?

Thank you so very much.

Hi! The integration does account for consent mapping. Only it doesn't live in RENXT Webview, it is over in Database view in Configuration. You can find more information here, under “Consent”:

Let me know if you have specific use case questions, I'd be happy to help.

  • Hi Jackie,

Thank you for replying. Yep, I'm aware that configuration takes place in DBV but the current JG integration set-up comes with a blank Email ‘category’

This is what I'm having difficulty navigating. Without a category, the consent triggers wil not be activated.

@Kenneth Jimah - You need to add a Consent Mapping specifically for this connection. See below for how we handled this. Once added, any communication updates from JG will be updated automatically within RE NXT.

  • Hi Austen. Thank you for your help. I already have this configuration set-up and adapted the advice of @Rachel Cavalier by adding Justgiving as a ‘Category’ but it stil doesn't pull through as a Consent Category. The underlying issue is that without a Category, when an existing record is updated, RE/RE NXT only adds to the Consent Preference but does not update the existing Consent. For example, if the existing consent is ‘Email Opt-In', but the incoming is ‘Email Opt-Out’, the Consent Category triggers that replacement so that the updated consent is now ‘Email Opt-out’. Please forgive me is this is too explanatory.

Not sure if this will change anything for you Kenneth, but in your image it has when the response from the constituent is “opt-out” then “opt-in” gets assigned as consent (and vice versa for the opt-in response) - isn't this the opposite of what should happen?

Hi @Kenneth Jimah - In order for the systems to work together and solicit codes to be added/removed based your configuration - the ‘Category’ field needs to be blank.

Kenneth, you are correct. Thank you for clarifying. I checked with the product (software) lead and as of now, this is as designed. Thanks to your help, I did alert the support team and I have made note too. Again, thank you for clarifying.

@Benton Austin this was helpful for me to see, thank you!

  • Hiya Rachel. It's so designed that if an Email Opt-In is coming in, then it replaces any other existing Email consent that'll conflcit it and vice-versa.

  • Hiya Austen. I tried that at first but unfortunately, it did not trigger the consent replacement only added to the list preference.

  • Thank you Austen. I'll keep an eye out for any updates ?

Ohh ok - I was wondering because it looks the opposite to what I would have expected. We don't have that many categories for ours, but most of the email ones look like this:

  • It actually is similar only that we have quite a number of Email Opt-Ins ?
