SWAG!!!

We all know that what we miss most about in-person bbcon is the swag, right?? No?? Just me?? Seriously, though, we went to a fundraiser last weekend and got three adorable flamingo floaty cup holders that immediately found a home in our pool. It is so much fun watching them - you would almost think you were watching real flamingos the way they move around and “interact”.

So…what has been your favorite swag, bbcon or otherwise??

Portable chargers are awesome swag!!! I actually have a couple of Blackbaud chargers!

  • Love the flamingoes, @Patti Hommes! It's fascinating how they do interact and move around your pool as a flock.

I think my favorite SWAG from BBCon has been one particular journal and the cord wrangler. I've not really truly received SWAG from anything else besides shirts, which kinda don't count to me. You know, you get this shirt to work this event and then you keep it. Not really a thing to me.

True about the shirts! There was one partner at the last couple of in-person bbcons that had squishy fruit and veggies that my grandkids loved!

  • so meditative!!!!

  • I still have my ribbons and lanyard from my first bbcon ('19) hanging in my office. People ask about it all the time.

My favorite swag that I actually received was a bobble-head pen, until the ink ran out. And an envelope opener that got lots of use. But, if I could pick my swag, the dancing b oogie Bot or a desktop basketball globe would be totally me! It really dances, guys.

So Blackbaud's program censored the name for the b oogie bot, which astounded me because first of all, I didn't realize the platform censored, and secondly, it blanked out a perfectly innocent word for dancing.

I had no idea that this word has developed some racist connotations in limited areas of the US. But as the official definition of the word relates strictly to a music genre (per Merriam Webster, Oxford, and Lexico - only Dictionary.com mentioned the uncommon slang meaning), I am surprised that the word would be included in a filter. So sad that our society is in a place where a good word gets smeared! ?

I was wondering what happened there. That is very sad!

  • I loved the t-shirts from BBCON. They held up really well over the years. I keep all my lanyards/ID holders from each con. I have a couple of cute stuffed animals that are on my shelf in my officed. Sigh..I wish it was a live con this year.

  • 100% I miss the swag so much!

  • I appreciate any pet-related swag that my cat actually enjoys for more than a minute, a rare feat.

Definitely the stress ball Legos. They are squishy, but still work as Legos.

Oooh! I want to see these! Got a picture to share?

Just yesterday there was a discussion started over in the RE Facebook group about SWAG and I shared this photo. While there are things that I love more than the Awesome Sauce, I know that those bottles will go down in history and make many of us laugh! #ifyouknowyouknow #thosebottles #tsahatesbbcon
