Now that it is over and you've had some time to catch up on some sessions you might have missed…. What was your favorite part of bbcon 2021?

Was is a particular speaker? A fun comment in the chat? The music? Chasing points on the leaderboard?

I know it isn't the SWAG since there isn't any. ?

I really appreciated the sessions that talked about mental health. So many of us aren't ok and it feels like the world has just decided to pretend the pandemic never happened.

Beth Kanter brought up a point I'd never really thought about: burnout is an organizational issue, not an individual problem. This really hit me because it's the opposite of what we're all told - if we're burned out, we should just get more rest! Or find joy in our day! Or remember our mission! But this framework acknowledges there is something wrong at the organizational level which needs to be addressed and all the yoga in the world won't fix it.

I felt more connected to my fellow BBCon attendees than I did last year. I'm not sure why, but that was definitely a plus.

Also, I 100% agree with what Amy said. I'm a huge supporter of getting mental health issues out into the open, getting people help who need it, and destigmatizing the problems. To have there be multiple sessions that talked about these things very openly and delved into the deeper structural why behind the what was very happy making for me.
