Favorite Scene from the Office

The first day my friend conscripted me to watch The Office, I remember thinking – hey, that's my coworker! (I can say that because my coworker no longer works here, lol.)

This happened again the other day as we discussed emergency preparedness issues and someone suggested crawling up into the drop ceiling to hide in case of an intruder. Sudden flashback to Oscar's escape in the fire drill scene.

For all you Office lovers out there – what scene from the show most speaks to you? ?

  • Just another reminder that I need to watch Office. I have only heard good comments on the show. Thanks!

I remember one episode where there was some kind of staff training, I think? David pulled out his guitar and started singing and totally derailed the training.

  • I love the Office and have scenes run through my head that parallel work all the time?. My favorite scene is when Dwight gets pumped for his annual review by dancing to some rocking music with his jam box in the stairwell.

  • Am I the only one who can't stand that show? I couldn't even make it through one season because it's just so stupid to me.

LOL, @Heather MacKenzie! I didn't want to like the show. I considered the humor crude. (I grew up in a family that reveled in word puns and blacklisted shows like the Simpsons and South Park.) But when my friend convinced me to watch an episode or two and I actually recognized one of my coworkers on there, I suddenly appreciated it as an extreme hyperbole of real office dynamics. My husband hasn't gotten into it, though. So I can relate where you're coming from!

I can also see former co-workers in it, but it's just not funny to me! LOL Like you, my family was hugely into wordplay and puns, so I thought I was going to like it.

  • Does anyone remember when Dwight was getting faxes from his future self?

  • After a heart health incident (can't remember the malady), Stanley returns to the office. Clearly Stanley finds his boss Michael Scott anxiety producing. First day back, Michael holds some kind of team building exercise that requires him to monitor the heart rate of participants. And of course Michael is very annoying the the exercise is annoying - and when he approaches Stanley with the heart monitor it beeps faster and faster. NO IDEA WHY and this was probably from like an episodes super early on, but the visual of this STILL MAKES me laff. My hubs who DEARLY LOVES the British version and holds it above anything and everything - admits SOME of the American Office is good. So many great actors. The Stanley actor just slays every episode - love him so much.

  • LOVED when Dwight was caught working on his avatar post break up. Funniest thing ever…

  • OMG my husband LOVES the British office - when we started dating he was like you gotta see it!!!!!!!! And it was probably like his twentieth viewing and he was cracking up - I loved it too, but started with the American Office which just kills me there are so many sweet moments of humor - and great actors….but I do admit I almost enjoy hearing my husband die in hysterics whenever David whips out that guitar…
