Goals for 2023?

Do you have any personal or professional goals for 2023? Here's some of mine:

  1. Finally, finally get MS Power licenses and start integrating some cool workflows/automations with NXT.
  2. Re-start my tracking of all the albums, movies, and games I interact with through the year with an updated rating system.
  3. Commit to better health choices.

Hope next year is the best one yet for each of you. Thanks for all your insights, advice, and fun posts in 2022.

Ooh do you use anything in particular to track your media consumption or do you just have an epic spreadsheet? I used Letterboxd for movies and I've just Last.fm for years now for the music I listen to.

Oh this is a fun thread! Especially for planners like me who like to look ahead and make goals, checklists, etc. ?

    • Well, my hubby has already persuaded me to rev up our joint fitness goals for the year. So my personal goal is to practice alongside my kids in their martial arts training. It's been 7 years since I've done any martial arts, and I'm rusty!
    • Professionally, I'd like to get back out to some conferences this year. Haven't been to conferences since before the pandemic.
    • And, I want to plant a gorgeous strawberry bed and some young fruit trees. Our goats ate all of them over a year ago and we never replaced them. Sad, I missed my strawberry jelly. We had to have goat steak instead…
  • @Bobby Steurer I am someone who likes to set low bar goals so I can celebrate more often. For now my goals are to practice deep listening and lift weights once a week.

  • @Bobby Steurer, my main goal is to not give up writing my novel which is published an episode at a time online. Also to somehow recoup from two+ months of burnout from work and lack of rest while getting back in the habit of lifting weights. ?

It's just a basic spreadsheet for each year. I have columns for Album Title, Artist, Year of Release, Genre, Month I Listened To It, and then a Notes column where I type my general thoughts. I thought about doing a ranking system in lieu of Notes, but the Notes are honestly really fun/funny to look back on and read. It's all through Google Sheets.

What are you doing to recover from burnout? That's honestly something I struggle with.
