I'm not sure if this helps, but to allow our committees the flexibility of announcing and disbursing awards when they would like to, we have two import fields for things that are very year specific. For example, the FAFSA data is pulled in as “upcoming” and “current”. But other things like “incoming freshman” and “incoming transfer” are only Y for so long before they are considered a current / ongoing student. We hope that it keeps something like GPA updating based on the date, but other things like FAFSA's EFC based on the aid year.
