  • @Crystal Bruce everything! I was not previously familiar with her or her story.

  • @Crystal Bruce I have to admit, I knew little to nothing about her, so I've learned a LOT more than I knew before. Especially about her cancer journey.

  • @Crystal Bruce I didn't know she authored some children's books, so I'm interested in checking those out. Also read online that she was appointed as a member of the President's Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. She has an incredible history that will bring amazing insights to that position.

    @Crystal Bruce

    I find her story so inspirational. I love this quote from her on WorldAthletics news: “I told myself that even if one woman or man heard [her story about cancer] and checked themselves, and they found a lump and it saved their life and maybe their kids got to keep their parent, that was enough for me.” My sister died from cancer at the age of 40, just a few years ago. I love how even though her concerns were dismissed by the doctors, she had confidence in herself to power through and get the care she needed despite the naysayers. That determination and self-confidence saved her life.

    I knew nothing about her, so pretty much everything about her record jumps and cancer journey was new to me.

    @Crystal Bruce I knew very little about her. The fact that she battled a very aggressive form of breast cancer and has done all she has is just extraordinary.

    @Crystal Bruce like others mentioned, I knew little to nothing about her. To discover she was the 1st Georgia Tech woman from track & field to qualify for the Olympics and then attend multiple years. She battled and survived an aggressive form of breast cancer and left her work as a financial advisor to return to Olympic training for a broader stage to advocate breast cancer awareness…while still undergoing treatment. Wow!
