Data regarding visitor attendance tracking

Hello, I work as an administrative assistant/lead receptionist at an art museum and am wondering if there is a way to input daily attendance information into Altru such as those entering the upstairs/downstairs galleries, the school and the lobby on an hourly basis?

@Kale Kerastas Great question Kale. What you are asking for is called access control. Organizations that use access control software will use a bar code or QR code that is scanned as a visitor enters a gallery or designated area where you want to track specific attendance. Altru does not have a way to track your visitors in that way. However, within the last 10-15 years there has been some developments in the tech community using digital apps to track visitor behavior and interactions. I'd look into what's available now. One additional word of advice, with increase security concerns, mobile apps tracking location is 100% voluntary, so take into consideration the amount of people who may decline using this service. Hope that helps!

  • @Rosita Bradham That was all very helpful information, thank you!

  • @Kale Kerastas Hi Kale! At my organization we issue tickets with barcodes through Altru for general admission and additional programming. We scan these tickets in Altru when the visitor first comes in. For additional programming or specific galleries, you could scan those tickets when they enter those areas if you have a computer set up available. I use the scanned ticket times for some data analysis purposes, especially during busier months to see what percentage of our visitors come in during specific time frames. I use query to pull the scanned ticket times. Additionally, I use the Average Hourly Sales report to check Daily Admission sales times for that type of analysis as well. If you want more info, let me know!
