@Austen Brown I LOVE to crochet. There are some GREAT tutorials on YouTube to help you get started. I really like Bella Coco (I think that's her name). She's British, but she explains things using both British and American terms. She also has videos for lefties too, which really helps me.

I often crochet during meetings because it keeps my hands busy and actually helps keep me focused on the meeting by preventing my ADHD brain from going off and doing other things. But it has to be a simple pattern.

@Rachel Kauer I've been wanting to try cross stitch for a while. I saw the Caterpillar Cross Stitch channel on YT and it looks like a pretty chill hobby that you can do whenever.

XD I bought a pair of skates because I myself was looking to get into it again but found myself suddenly nervous trying to skate outside on pavement about injuries. I don't have an indoor rink nearby, (the local one burned down when I was like 13) but if you do, that might be the way to go! The wood floor is more forgiving on skin/joints and always made me less nervous about falling.

@Rachel Kauer, I want to learn harp and piano! I took a year of piano and violin classes at college several years back, but dropped it later when kids came along and diapers kept me busy. Now my own kiddos are into piano and one of them is just about to start harp classes, and I want to brush up along with them! Needless to say I'll be taking mental notes as I sit in on their classes, lol.

@Rachel Kauer I'd like to learn the ukulele but struggle with the patience required to learn something new. I also inherited an accordion and thought that might be fun to learn as well. Not sure my downstairs neighbors will enjoy me practicing though!

@Carlene Johnson, one of our monks is a closet accordion player. He never plays in public, but one evening I stopped by the office after hours, and I heard him jamming away in his office. He's really good! It's an underappreciated instrument. I hope you get the time to try!

That's so awesome! I marched with DCA one year to fill a spot on the field (totally couldn't play mellophone BTW). I have to say watching the judges face looking a the mellophone line trying to figure out why one of us wasn't making an sound was…interesting. It was such a unique experience and I have to say you must be incredible talented to be DCI Drum Major!!

@Rachel Kauer Who did you march with? You can come march with us! Bring friends! my husband plays mellophone! We had a young man who was on the field with us who was just learning how to play. He just moved his fingers while on the field!

I did a summer with the CT Hurricanes many many years ago when I was just out of high school. Thanks XD! I'm afraid my marching days are past, but being on that field during a show was quite the thrill! More power to him! To the Hurricanes credit they did try to teach me to play, alas it is not one of my talents, breath control and basic buzzing are beyond me!
