503 service unavailable last few days

We are using the SKY API to retrieve data from schools and we've been receiving 503 errors with a message of ‘service unavailable’. Historically this has not been an issue, however over the past week we have received consistent 503 errors for some of our requests.

Rerunning the request on demand later works fine.

We're calling a variety of endpoints including `/school/v1/users/extended` around 2:30am (7:30 UTC).

Is there a common out window we should avoid? Is there a recommended/preferred time we should be performing these requests?

  • @Brian Riesen any info on this? It still sporadically failing on 75% of requests so I ended up changing our schedule.

    Will see how it runs for the rest of the week.

    If you haven't contacted customer support about the errors yet, I would recommend submitting a support case to have them investigate.

  • @Brian Riesen We have also seen this issue over the past few days. We export information throughout the day and portions of the exports failed continuously yesterday morning. This does cause a major issue when we are using it to synchronize data to other systems.
