Required fields coming soon to Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT web view

I'm Ron Fontenot, the product manager for Constituents, here to tell you that WE HEARD YOU.  One of the top requested features in the Idea Bank is enabling required fields for constituents.  I'm here to tell you that (very) soon, we will add this feature to Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT web view!

  

Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT web view will support required fields set by organizations.  For the initial release, we will enable required fields for Constituent records and Action records.

     
What this means for you

• The initial release will pull your current required field settings in database view and will enable these in web view.  For example, if the First name field is set as required in database view, it will now become a required field in web view. 
• After the initial pull, future updates to required fields settings in web view will be managed independently of required field settings in database view.
• Product Admins will see an option in the Control Panel menu called Fields and Tables. Fields and Tables provides a list of the fields that support a requirement status (Required or Optional) and what record type they appear on.
  
    

Required Fields for Constituents

Constituent fields in this update include:

• Last name
• First name
• Title
• Addressee
• Salutation
• Constituent codes
• Gender

You'll see these required fields when you perform these tasks:

• Adding an individual
• Adding an organization
• Editing constituent codes
• Updating individual name
• Updating name formats
• Updating personal information

• Type
• Status
• Assign to
