Maintain: The Real Way to Get Gains in 2020

Transform, renovate, reinvent, achieve—what do all these words have in common? Aside from often popping out from inspirational office art, they are also heard more this time of year in New Year’s resolutions.


If any of these strong action words snuck into your own resolution for 2020, you’re certainly not alone. It’s common to desire a new beginning or a fresh start to go with that crisp, freshly unwrapped annual calendar hanging up on the wall.  


But, while you forge ahead with a new goal, don’t forget to nurture your past accomplishments. Although it may seem a bit humdrum, avowing to maintain a skill, routine, or connection is a worthy resolution as well.


While not as overtly glamorous, stabilizing and maintaining previous aspects in your work life can help provide a stable platform for any new challenges you might have set your sights on both professionally and personally.
