Happy International Women's Day! All over the world, people are celebrating women's achievements and raising awareness about gender parity!Today marks the annual celebration of International Women’s Day and Blackbaud is joining women around the world to honor the incredible social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and raise awareness for gender parity.
Gender parity is important to Blackbaud and instead of explaining why we think it is a necessary step towards equality, we asked employees throughout the organization to share their thoughts and here is what a few of them had to say…
“Gender equality is an opportunity to amplify women in the workplace and also discover ways to go beyond the gender binary.”
“It means that no matter your gender or background, we all have a seat at the table and voices are equally heard.”
“Gender parity is less about a gender ratio and more about the story that ratio has to tell like the socio-political implications that we see every day.”
“Challenges are inevitable, but my hope is that when my daughter enters the workforce, she faces challenges that equally impact all genders.”
“Gender parity is not walking into the room and being an “only”. Instead, it’s seeing other women sitting at the table right beside me.”
Blackbaud strives to continue to make diversity and inclusion in the workplace a priority and we are committed to empowering female leadership. While we are proud of what we have achieved regarding our gender diversity, we recognize there is still more work to be done, and our collective effort will help move things forward.
On International Women’s Day, and every day, we challenge our employees to support the women in their personal and professional lives by encouraging them, continuing the conversation around gender parity, and paving the way for future generations to come.
