Why is the new Financial Edge NXT Navigation so terrible?

The new vertical Navigation is not user-friendly at all and is less efficient than the horizontal menu. It takes extra keystrokes and clicks to use the bar on the side. And now Reports is hidden under Analysis. I am now losing several inches of viewing width if I want to keep the navigation bar available, which I do, since I navigate between modules all the time. So now I'm also needing additional clicks and scrolls to even see what I need to see on the screen.

Does anyone who works on the website actually use the platform for transactions?

I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt, but after using it all day and being constantly frustrated, I can't find one good thing about it. It's absolutely awful. I can't imagine I'm the only one who feels this way. Can you at least give us the option to select which view we prefer?

  • Personally, I like it better the way it is now and find the organizational structure more coherent. So… I guess this is just me saying that your frustrations, while valid, aren't universal.

  • I'm glad to see that others aren't having the frustrations I am. I think my biggest issues are the loss of width, particularly for the Journal Entry screen, and the loss of Reports as its own heading.

  • I said before that I really dislike the navigation bar on the left side of the screen, but I've just spent 10 minutes trying to find my queries… This side bar is not convenient, not user-friendly and now I find that my queries are buried in Analytics. My job changed slightly this year, so I'm no longer in NXT all day, but still… Please move the side bar back to the top, or at least let it be movable (not just collapsible).
