The future of Raiser’s Edge NXT is unfolding, and you are at the center of it. As we move toward a unified view, we’ve been intentional about listening closely to you, the skilled professionals who rely on this platform every day to drive meaningful change.

As we reimagine Raiser’s Edge NXT, delivering enhancements that make web view more intuitive and influential, your feedback makes the process that much stronger. You’ve been especially intentional in your feedback about optimizing Query, one of the most popular and powerful features in Raiser’s Edge NXT.

Your feedback continues to move us forward.

In the case of Query, your feedback was clear about the outlined path. As a result, Query functionality will remain supported in both web view and database view beyond February 2026, as we continue to enhance the experience to better serve your needs.

As web view becomes more robust, we will move some capabilities exclusively into web view. For example, management of Attributes under Configuration in database view—including creating, editing, and deleting—will move exclusively to Settings, Custom fields in web view in January 2026.

This evolution reflects our commitment to simplifying your processes while eliminating redundancies, enabling you to achieve more with less friction.

Looking ahead.

Our vision is ambitious but clear: to provide you with a fully unified Raiser’s Edge NXT experience by the end of 2026, empowering you to focus on the critical processes that fuel your mission. Our focus is on creating technology that amplifies your efficiency, deepens your connection to your mission, and supports the vital work you do every day. Future development will center on the unified view, with database view access phased out in the first half of 2027.

Thank you for walking this path with us, for sharing your insights, and for trusting us to support your mission.

Your participation in town halls, the Community, the Idea Bank, webinars, Blackbaud University sessions, and countless two-way conversations matter. Together, we’re building a smarter, stronger future with Raiser’s Edge NXT.

  • Here at Williston Northampton School we use attributes very heavily in our day-to-day work. We also globally add and update those attributes as often as they need it. Since Web View does not have a global functionality yet, you cannot make the jump to putting attributes in retirement in the database view without giving us the ability to global change anything we need to. We will not be able to function on a daily basis. thanks for considering not moving to Web View just yet, or at least a compromise to keep the functionality in both data base and web view for the time being.

  • Agree with Cindy's concern here. If attributes are removed from database view, will they not be able to be globally changed or imported?

These are very important concerns that Blackbaud needs to clarify. Shifting the configuration from one view to the other does not feel worrisome, but there are A LOT of customers who manage these globally.

How global changes and imports will work in database view, when the custom fields only exist in the webified view* is not mentioned, and is critical to amplifying efficiency and reducing friction.

*I am using this term jokingly, since Blackbaud is referring to both "webview" and "unified view" in this communication.

  • I feel like Blackbaud still is not listening to it's users. If web view/unified view doesn't have the full capabilities as database view yet, can we stop trying to remove functionality?

I was very nervous about query in database view going away and now the attributes? I'm not sure what this post means by "less-utilized features", we use attributes on EVERYTHING. Gifts, actions, constituents, relationships, etc. I'm entering attributes daily.

More nonsense from Blackbaud from their inferior production RE NXT (Next to Nothing is more like it). How dare they attempt to eliminate the work horse RE Database View with so many things not necessarily coming over to RE NXT. This constantly showing this inferior production down our throats without totally listening to all its customers concern is appalling. Still have not hear about action tracks being in RE NXT (and no, workflow is NOT the same thing), what about the plugins, what about deceased finder (not the inferior one in RE NXT), RE MAIL (especially quick letters and the segment feature), Action Reminders and this is just a few things.
