Here are the latest changes in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT for November 4, 2025.

Add or remove queries to a constituent list

To help you craft custom constituent lists in web view, you can now add or remove queries to a list. Queries may be static or dynamic.

Note: <Ask> operators for queries are not supported.

From Constituents, Constituent lists, select Add/Exclude. Select whether to add or exclude, and search for the query.

For more information, see Lists.

Fresh visual styles in essential workflows

We’ve given several parts of the product a fresh coat of paint! You’ll notice updated visual styles in places like sign-in, navigation, user profile, and Admin. While the look has changed, the functionality remains the same.

These updates are part of a broader visual refresh that will continue rolling out across the product over time.

Merge multiple duplicates at one time (for some of you)

To help remove duplicates, you can merge up to 500 records at once in Data health. As when merging single pairs of records, you do not need to merge in both web view and database view.

For more information, see Review possible duplicates.

Thanks for asking for that clarification, @Alex Wong.

I am excited to try out adding and excluding queries in Constituent Lists!

Apologies! The word "not" was omitted by error. It has been fixed to clarify that you do not need to merge in both database view and web view.

If you add a dynamic query to a list, does that mean the list will automtically update, or is one time only?

Thanks for your question, @Marie Stark! I checked with our developers, and received this answer:

Records added from a query are copied into the list, but the list doesn’t stay linked to the query. Changes to the query won’t affect the list. You can start a new list from a static query, but once the list is created, you can add or exclude records using either static or dynamic queries. These queries only affect the list at the time they’re used—there’s no ongoing connection. Reusing a query later will only add new records, not remove old ones.

  • Thanks, Emma, that's a thorough answer, much appreciated.

    Thank you for clarifying.

  • Hello. question here regarding the new ability to add/remove constituents to a constituent list via queries. Is there any way to automate this process? Can a Flow be created in Raiser's Edge NXT or some type of trigger set up? So that say every night at 11 PM we run the "New Daily Members" query and the output of that query is added to an existing Constituent List?

You can create a list from IDs alone using SKY API. I think that's in a sense what this new feature is doing.

Although I am curious about this:

@Emma Sutton If we have a constituent list that is based on filter on the list (i.e. State of NY, say 1000 consittuent), if we add a 300 constituent using query (one time add, not dynamic). This moment the list has 1300 constituent. If tomorrow, constituent is added with State of NY or existing constituent update to/from State of NY, will the list update based on the list filter +300? (i.e. Added 100 new constituent having State of NY, will the list now have 1400 constituent)?
