PowerUp Challenge: Third Standard Reports Task
To give you greater control over how your data is displayed, reports that use a query to include records can now be sorted by the order of the query you chose. If your report type allows it, try out this functionality in web view and share your feedback. If your Standard Report type doesnāt allow sorting by query order, let us know which format type you like most and why!

I appreciate having this kind of flexibility. In the Consecutive Years Giving Report, I mostly prefer the names to be alphabetized by last name, so it's nice to have this option. For other reports where I'd want to sort by multiple levels at the same time, I appreciate having this sorted like in my query from the outset.

The reports my organization runs typically don't have more than one query, so I will rarely need this functionality. However, the format type I like most and enjoy using is the Headings format. I mostly use reports to pull fundraising numbers, so the sorting doesn't matter really. But knowing what the numbers that I am looking at mean is super helpful!

I agree with Sara above - there are certain reports I prefer to be alphabetized by last name

I like the optional columns fields now available in the report, it gives me the ability to not have to run multiple reports/queries and get the information all in one place. Will there be additional optional columns as more reports are moved over to webview? The Headings in Format gives you the ability to make your report custom and a bit more professional.

I like the option to sort by query because sometimes we like our lists alphabetical or sorted by zip code, so it's nice if we have the query already set up and sorted to be able to get the report with the same sorting order.

It's nice to have the sort option (when I remember to add it to the query of course). Helps us look at data the same way across different reports.

Its very helpful to have different sorting options, especially for recurring report requests to be done over and over again.

I am happy that queries can be included in reports and, when appropriate, the reports can sort on said query. However, many of the reports I utilize have queries that have runtime variables. These still are not working in web/unified view. One such report we use daily is the Gift Detail and Summary Report. It is based on a query that prompts for the batch number so we can print a more detailed report of each batch entered in database view. We also run a separate GD&S report for monthly balancing with our Accounting department but I need to be able to run them by batch number for our payroll batches I enter. Currently I am restricted to database view for all of this.

I don't know how often I would realistically use this feature but the flexibility is nice.

Definitely a plus. Give flexibility to sort output how I want it in the PDF.

From past experience, all major gift officers want reports in a format/sorted that is easiest for them. Any flexibility with that is a HUGE plus!

It's nice to have the option to sort by query. It makes looking at certain report so much easier.

WOOHOO!!! Sometimes I have my queries sorted by multiple levels and I'd have to re-sort my reports. I cannot tell you how many times I wished sorting by the query was an option!

It's great to be able to sort as my team likes being able to review information alpha by last name so being able to provide more reports in that format is super helpful.

As others have mentioned, adding this flexibility is great. It is much more useful to be able to sort on many different fields instead of several canned options. I look forward to using this new feature.

In my first task response, I mentioned the inability to sort on the "canned" reports, so I'm not sure how this ability to sort based on a query would impact those, but it is helpful to be able to select how to sort reports that are based on queries that also are sorted in the way we we want them.

I use the sort option a lot, whether by names or by date. The usual reports I run don't have more than one query.

The consecutive years giving report I use the most does not have a query attached, but I love the idea of being able to use the sort order! I tend to sort by either key indicator, and/or alphabetically to keep things organized.

I don't usually have reports with more than one query. I can see where this is a useful feature though. I'll have to experiment with it to see if it's something we'd actually use.

I will have to try it out - great to have the option. :)

I love the option to sort as I please in the PDF. This is a great feature.

Being able to have constituents ordered alphabetically really helps when you want to go back and find a particular supporter, if you're going through the report later on and if you're familiar with the data, I feel like it makes it easier to spot if something's not as expected.
I have to say that I always like my PDFs to be in landscape for reports like LYBUNT, just aesthetically š

Iāll need to experiment more on the PDF export side, as weāre more used to working with CSV files and customizing the order in Excel. That said, itās a great addition, we really appreciate any feature that gives users more flexibility and control over their data.

For Consecutive Years giving report it makes it easy to segment and see where your opportunities are for further cultivation as well as stewardship.

I like the flexibility of sorting like this.

Having added flexibility when it comes to reporting and sorting data is always a nice option to have.

Love being able to really get down to (or exclude) a group of constituents within a report that is not part of standard criteria.

The sort option is very helpful when our team would like the standard reports organized by last name, constituency type, etc.

It is nice to be able to look at results in a variety of different ways without having to create multiple different reports.
