We utilized Fund categories to group together funds that fit into one of 6 categories on our board report. The categories were extremely helpful because it helped our board realize how many different ways gifts could be counted. As an example, we have several endowed funds - some are scholarships, some are faculty chairs, some are graduation awards. So for a scholarship, although the fund type might be endowment and would be counted as a gift in our Endowment Campaign - the fund category was tuition assistance and woudl be counted towards our TA annual mini goal. Using that logic we were able to group together all of our scholarship. financial aid and tuition assistance to track our progress to goal for that campaign.
