Last month we introduced a new monthly series designed to keep you closely connected to the future of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT®.  InsideTrack to the Unified View is designed to help you plan and adapt your processes with confidence by providing clear, consistent updates directly from our product management team.

Our first InsideTrack session focused on Gift Management, sparking insightful questions and meaningful conversations. We thank everyone who contributed to an engaging discussion with Anthony Gallo, Principal Product Manager.

During the session, we received more than 1,350 comments and questions. While we couldn’t address every question live, we’ve identified and highlighted the most common themes to share with you.

Much of the discussion centered around the upcoming release of Grid View Batch that will be available to all customers by the end of February. To help you make the most of this functionality, we’ve scheduled two town halls where you can ask questions and learn more about how this high-speed batch capability supports your gift management workflow.

If you missed the first InsideTrack session, don’t worry—you can still register to access the on-demand recording. This same page will serve as your go-to hub for all InsideTrack sessions, giving you access to both upcoming events and past recordings.

Key questions from the Gift Management InsideTrack Session:

Is it possible to set up custom fields and splits as batch defaults in a template?

Right now, we’ve connected defaults to the 1:1 fields, and we’re actively working on the next stage of this project. The next phase will introduce support for gift custom fields and then gift splits. This feature is planned for delivery in Q2 of 2026.

Will there be a way to connect gifts to tributes, opportunities, memberships, events, gift aid, and more in batch?

Yes, this is currently in development. The priority is tributes, which will be introduced first. Opportunities will be next, with a release planned for Q2 of 2026. From there, additional features will be built in based on demand and need to ensure smooth integration with batch workflows. Partners will also be able to use their own columns to establish gift connections. While tributes and opportunities are on the horizon, timelines for the next steps are not yet finalized.

Will recurring batches be part of the new grid batch?

We are in the process of creating an import option that allows you to update batches by uploading a CSV file prior to approval. Among the advanced batch features we’re reviewing is the ability to manage recurring batches. If exporting a batch and re-importing it as new covers this functionality, we may choose not to build recurring batches as a specific workflow. We plan to gather more feedback before reaching a decision.

Is it possible to automatically generate transactions and prepare EFT files in the new batch while supporting non-automated gifts?

This initiative is still in the planning phase. We recognize the importance of supporting non-automated recurring gifts even without the presence of database view, though specific details are still being worked out. If we’re able to use our payments infrastructure to securely store credit card details or bank account relationships as tokens and retrieve them as needed, those fields won’t be brought over to web view as specific data tied to constituent records. We're in the early stages, but we expect to share more information during our next Product Update Briefing.

Where can you find the reports in the batch?

The release of this item is part of our phased rollout for grid view batch. Control and Validation reports will be accessible in web view. Along with the gift code, these are the two main priorities for grid view batch updates before we focus on the advanced gift linking features.

When will the ability to manage fund relationships in web view be available?

The fund relationship functionality is almost complete and set to launch in February. Similarly, general ledger configuration management for funds is wrapping up and shares the same expected timeline. After that, we'll release the related campaign, fund, and appeal (CFA) tiles on CFA records, the fundraisers tile across all CFA records, and then tackle the unique features for each CFA record type. These updates are planned to roll out by late Q2 or early Q3 of 2026.

When will it be possible to edit and adjust specific gift fields in web view?

This work is scheduled to start toward the end of Q1 and continue through Q2 of 2026. The focus is on making all editable fields within a gift record accessible for updates. Fields that cannot currently be changed will also be addressed in this initiative. Complete gift record management is expected to be released by late Q2 or early Q3 of 2026.

Thank you for being part of our first InsideTrack session. We hope you found it helpful! Be sure to register for upcoming sessions as we move towards the Unified View:

Just to be clear, are the sessions in March going to be the same? I know there will be different attendees so they will (probably) have different questions, but since users need to carve time out of their schedules to watch these sessions, getting a sense of the time commitment will be helpful.

    Thanks!

@Karen Diener Great question! Town halls spotlight features that were released just a few weeks prior, giving you the opportunity to explore them beforehand and then engage directly with the project manager responsible for that workflow. These sessions offer a deeper look, letting you ask specific questions and share your feedback about the newly developed feature. Conversely, the Inside Track provides a quick overview of previous updates, placing emphasis on upcoming developments for Raiser's Edge NXT unified view. Questions are welcome during the Inside Track, though they generally focus on broader aspects of the unified view's overall direction.

@Tanya Fitzgerald - unless I'm mistaken I think that @Karen Diener was asking if these two sessions would be the same - with the exception of differences based on the questions asked in chat or live.

Karen - is that what you were asking?

  • @Tanya Fitzgerald The Register function isn't working on these event page listings. Several colleagues commented about this on this article page. But the problem hasn't yet been resolved. Can you assist, please?

@Carlene Johnson there will be no difference between the two Grid View Batch town halls except questions and discussions.

@Karen Diener , making sure you saw this response. I think we all assumed this was the case, but helpful to officially know so we can communicate to others.

  • @Tanya Fitzgerald Thanks for your help. Confirming, I was able to register for the 3/4 session (Grid View).

Regarding the above link for the 3/13/26 session (Query & Export), I'm unfortunately unable to register. I'm definitely logged into Blackbaud. Can you pls help me troubleshoot registering for that, as well?
