Added a phone call action for a recent donor. I feel like I could add the action more quiclky myself rather that answering chat's questions.

  • I tried it. Unfortunately the AI didn't seem to recognize the table of Action Types that we've built, and was intent on assigning either an original one or ignoring it in place of action category.

  • Added a cultivation action to test record. Should have given more details to populate-super easy and less clicks for sure

Assign a thank-you note action for Daniel Snyder was the prompt I entered. 3+ minutes later and it is still thinking. I did enter this prompt from a gift batch page I happened to be on last so not sure if that impacts the time it takes to work.

I tried this with several records. On one, it had me select from two somewhat similar names, but even after I selected it then said it could not find the record. In the time I spent trying to do this, I could have added several actions - or even globally added some.

So far, NOT a fan of this "feature".

  • I see how this could be helpful for people who aren't used to adding actions to records. But for those who do it on a day-to-day basis, we are probably faster than the bot at this point.

  • I tried a few prompts:

    (1) To add a research request action (which took extra prompts to clarify it was a "basic" one and then I still had to fill in all the correspdong boxes on the action record)

    (2) To add a phone call action to be assigned to one the portfolio manager (which took 10 solid minutes and then timed out.)

    (3) To add a simpler version of the phone call action (which asked for the prompt and then still timed out).

    (4) To add an action - as basic as possible - (which still froze after about 10 minutes)

So… swing and a miss for me. However, I am very encouraged by this and think it has a lot of potential - especially for those portfolio managers who aren't as well-versed in RE. It just needs to actually work and be able to do so quickly. (Otherwise, why are we damaging the environment?!)

I could see this feature being useful for my fundraisers who may need help with entering actions onto donor records. I do it often enough that I've gotten pretty fast with entering them. Knowing the nuance of what the various action types mean is also something to consider. I have it detailed in my role's Policies & Procedures Manual, but since chat doesn't have access to that, it seems that it struggles to pick one. Is that something to consider for improving chat? Allowing us to add in nuanced/org-specific definitions for various table entries?

*Please note that IT has not given me the green light to opt-in to this feature. My comments are based off what I've seen in demos and other community members' posts.

  • I assigned a thank you note through AI. Not sure if it really saved me anytime but I guess I am used to going into the constituent record.

  • I tried to add a phone call action using the new AI feature, but it just kept buffering. I did get it to work on a second try, but I'd rather just go in and add the action myself rather than wait for an AI to buffer and get confused and ultimately not do what I asked it to do.

  • I tried to add a phone call solicitation, but I was unsuccessful. Chat asked too many questions and then an "unexpected error" occurred :(

This is too time consuming, adding the action myself is faster.

I only asked it to "Add a phone call action record to [constituent]" and this did open the add action window fairly quickly and prefilled it with text about discussing a recent donation and thanking for support. I thought this was a fairly decent basic kind of message but the last donation wasn't that recent (8th December 2025 and only £1 - my own test donation!).

  • I added a phone action on my own record. It worked fine, but I don't think it was any faster then going to the record myself. I could see it being useful if you could add/update multiple things to a record at once.

  • Added a "Test" Phone Call action to my own record since this is the first time our org has used the AI Chat function! Pretty straightforward and is a tool I'll bring back to my fundraisers.

  • I tried adding a phone call action. There were 2 different donors with the same name, so it had me choose which one to add the action to. Then it sort of added the action, there was a bunch of required fields I still had to add to complete the task, so I think it would have been faster for me to add it myself.
