Knowing this is not a completed product but in progress, I really like where it is so far and look forward to additional capabilities being released. The only thing I don't really like is the delete icon at the end of the row. I would prefer it to be at the front so if I accidentally tab through to a new line or need to remove a gift from a batch I don't want to scroll all the way to the right to do that. Especially if I have a lot of fields in my batch.

Exactly @Dan Snyder! That delete icon threw me off in the beginning when I accidentally tabbed through to a new row and couldn't figure out what to do next. Hope they change that. I, for one, am waiting for them to add the ability to apply to a pledge in grid view (unless that's hidden like the trash can). I had two on-line pledge payments today and had to go in and apply them after the fact.

I like tabbing across, especially because it automatically creates a new line instead of having to click new gift at the top of the page. It would be nice if after checking for an open pledge, you could tab to the next field. It takes you out of the cell you are in when you click out of the pledge box.

I recently learned that on the date fields you can type the day and it auto-populates the MM/DD/YYYY for the date! ❤️
The Trash Can icon at the end of the row vs the beginning of the row, once I figured it out, SHIFT+TAB to back arrow solved the problem.
Shortening the Lookup from 3 characters to 2 characters on drop-down lists is fantastic!
The Constituent Review flyout I honestly have mixed feelings about. In DBV Batch you can preselect certain fields to display that you can then see without having to click a button. However, being able to view the whole constituent record without leaving the batch is good.
Very pleased with what I've experienced so far, and yes, it will continue to improve on it's short-comings.0 -
The drop downs for things like campaign, fund, and appeal are much easier to see than in nxt so that's a win. I agree with others- the trash can icon threw me at first…

I created a template and applied that to an incoming batch of gifts from Online Giving forms. I didn't think about it until afterwards when I saw a question/comment from someone else in the user's group on Facebook, but luckily for me it worked as intended … my template had default campaigns set, and the batch I applied it to had gifts meant for other campaigns.
Luckily, defaults only apply to new gifts added to a batch, not existing gifts. So fortunately I didn't muck up the batch by applying incorrect defaults. Just something I'm pointing out so others are aware.0 -
I definitely appreciate the tabbing feature. One thing I noticed, not sure if it's a bug or not, but while tabbing from one row to the next, if the new gift I was on had the Anonymous box checked off, when I tabbed through it, the Anonymous box was unchecked automatically and I had to go back and re-check it. This case specifically happened with automatically-generated recurring gifts in a batch, so I did not mark off Anonymous myself—it was already there. Has anyone else noticed this?
I've also noticed—again, with automated recurring gifts—that if I need to change the appeal from what was automatically generated and save it to a different appeal, I have to go back through those gifts a second time to update/remove the associated old packages because they don't update after the first save. For some reason, the previous appeal's packages don't populate when I update the appeal, but they do after I hit save the first time. If this doesn't make sense, let me know.0 -
I like that I can apply a template at the beginning of the process. I also appreciate how easy it is to look up campaigns, appeals and funds. The tabbing feature is a time saver.

Like Dan mentioned, I would love a delete button on the left side of the rows - particularly on a small screen, it's a lot of scrolling to the right. The tabbing is fantastic too.

I did find the looking up a constituent a little temperamental, I did a test batch of 4 people and when I wrote the surname of 2 constituent it didn't come up and I had to delete it and start again twice.

As Dan and others have mentioned, the delete icon should be on the left. If I need to delete a row, it is usually after entering other rows, not right as I have entered a row. I think having it on the right makes deleting the wrong row more likely.
I do like the tabbing and ability to lock columns on the left of the screen.

I like being able to tab to the next field. It would be great if the appeal, package, fund and campaign fields displayed in code view instead of description - or if you could choose either or.

I absolutely hated this feature when it was first introduced, but I have to say Blackbaud improved A LOT in a very short time. I've actually moved my gift entry (for most gifts) to web view. I'm unable to do event sponsorships in web view because I can't link the gifts to events yet.

While I really like the new view, I do wish that the entry was faster. I had to type in the constituent name 4 times before it registered that was entering something and gave me the option to select the constituent. I know that this will get better as the function improves over time, but I wanted to put that out. A similar thing happened with the coding for the gift, I could type the campaign out, but then I'd have to wait for it to load the option before I could click on it. I wish that the auto populate feature was included like in database view, so the second that I see the fund I want I can just tab. Instead, I have to wait for the options to load and then click on the option I want.

It took a few minutes to load the constituents when I searched for the test record (as webview often does) but it eventually loaded and seemed easy enough, although admittedly, I haven't processed gifts in a long time. I do want to echo my fabulous colleague, @Janet Linaweaver and her note that you can't process event gifts/registrations which is a big issue for us. And kudos on the templates! :-)

The tab feature is very helpful; however, I often create an unintended new row and then I need to tab all the way over to find the delete button. Please move this to the beginning of the row! Looking forward to the time when all the database linking features are moved over.
