Donation through a 3rd party
If a donor has a payroll deduction through his employer go to the United Way but directs their donation directly to our nonprofit does United Way get the hard entry and the employee gets a soft credit or does the employee receive a gift JE for the donation?

Hi Lisa,
Others may credit it differently but we base it on who the donation comes from. If it's from United Way - that is who is listed on the bank statement - then it goes on the United Way record with soft credit to the donor (if we know who it is).
