Hi! My name is Brenda Ryther, I'm the database manager at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, Washington. I've been in this position for 23 years, Fun fact, I only have 2 more years until retirement:) I live very close to my 2 daughters and grandkids, we love to take short road trips around our beautiful Pacific Northwest!

I'm Dan Snyder, been using RE for about 12 years, and RENXT since 2017. You may find me in other areas of the community as well or hiking around Upstate NY and Vermont where I call home.

@Brenda Ryther Congrats on being so close to retirement! I love the Spokane area, as I used to go there regularly for a big Roller Derby tournament the Spokane team would put on! I guess that's my fun thing - I play less and referee more now, though. I'm located in Alberta, Canada where I currently work at the Calgary Public Library Foundation.

@Crystal Bruce, I'm Carrie, and tomorrow is my 12th anniversary at the Crosier Fathers and Brothers in Phoenix. We switched to RENXT in 2019 after many years with Raiser's Edge, and I used Raiser's Edge in a limited capacity at my previous employer, a different Catholic institution, for about 4 years. I'm originally from Iowa, and my goal is to get to all 50 states before I turn 51. (I have 13 states and a few years left—despite the pandemic's efforts to stymie my quest! We're planning a New England trip this fall, so I'll can add 5 more then.)

We've been using NXT since 2018. I've been more in the FE world until last year when our development associate retired and they slid some of her duties over to me. I've recently fallen in love with duckpin bowling - don't let those tiny pins fool you, it really is harder than it looks!

@Crystal Bruce Hi Friends! Adrienne here. I'm part of the Development team at Community Connections Inc., an agency that serves people with disabilities in Southeastern Massachusetts. I'm based on Cape Cod (sand dunes and salty air).
I'm a recycled Raiser's Edge user having used it at a previous organization up until Covid-19. I'm getting used to RE NXT! ?Similar to @Crystal Bruce, I'm a stand-up comedienne performing around New England (especially for fundraising events). I was even a top-3 finalist in the North Shore (Boston) Comedy Fest!

Good morning all, I am Susan Chomsky, Donor Relations and Database Manager at Forgotten Harvest, a food rescue agency in SE Michigan. I've been here for 9 years and with RE NXT for 8. We are transitioning from other online platforms to NXT donation forms and migrating recurring gifts to NXT. It has its challenges but they are not insurmountable. I appreciate the insight and experience that this Community shares.3 -
@Crystal Bruce Hello to all! I am in the greater Cincinnati area, specifically northern Kentucky. I have been the Database Specialist for Notre Dame Academy for three years now, as I started the week before we were sent home thanks to COVID. That is when I first began using NXT and dove right into learning all I could on this new-to-me platform. I would love to get our school to utilize other products so all aspects of the school can easily communicate with one another, but that is not happening currently.
One thing about me is I am an only child who has been blessed with FOUR children, two of each, ranging in age from 17 to almost 26. Thank you all for sharing!

Hello community! I am the Development and Marketing Coordinator for Brevard Schools Foundation - the nonprofit support for Brevard Public Schools - located on the Space Coast of FL. Yes it is awesome to watch the rocket launches!I have been using RE since “before the turn of the century” ?? From RE for Windows early edition to RE6, RE7 and now RE NXT. I have been in & out of the RE world and hence active and dormant in the community. Glad to be back and getting more hands on time in RE NXT (as well as DBV).
Since moving to FL over 3 years ago, I have added watching rocket launches and year-round walks to my things to do and am an avid reader.

Hey y'all! I am the Special Events Coordinator at East Alabama Health in the EAMC Foundation. I started working in Fundraising in November of 2021 after leaving the education field after 10 years.In Memphis, I worked at an all-boys high school teaching Pre-Calculus to Juniors and Seniors. I adored teaching, and it was my calling for a long time, but when I became sad about work each day, I knew it was time to go.
I was born in Spring, TX, moved to Memphis, TN, when I was 3 years old, and moved to Opelika, AL, 1.5 years ago. We live on the gorgeous Lake Harding and absolutely love being near family (my brother, his family, and my parents live on the same lake.)
We have two amazing mutt puppies, Petula is 10 (she still acts like a puppy), and Henley is 12.
An interesting fact about me is that I was born at home! Seven years later, I was in my parent's bedroom when my little brother was born. I have an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister.

@Crystal Bruce I am the Data Analyst at Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation in Miami FL. I have worked in Raiser's Edge about 15 years, mostly in the database view. Before that I worked for a software company.

I started as the database administrator for Lutheran Heritage Foundation in Macomb, MI (north part of the Detroit Metro Area) in October 2022. Just got my professional certification in RE last month. My first job out of college was teaching 5th grade and Latin at a small private school. Teaching students was great, but when I got married (2 years in June), I deemed it prudent to seek a more traditional office job, especially since we have our first baby due in April.
Let's see, fun facts. I can speak Tok Pisin from a couple years living overseas in high school, and can read ancient Greek. I like reading, especially classic literature and history. Big Nintendo fan, especially Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Pikmin.

Hello to all! I am a DBA at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. We manage philanthropy programs for the hospital system and for the Wake Forest School of Medicine. I've been using Raiser's Edge since 2015 and continue to learn something new every day. Every year since 2018, I renew my professional certification in RE. I have had roles in Donor Relations, Operations, and Annual Giving over the past 20 years and found that I enjoy Operations the most! I am looking forward to working in my yard this spring- building a French drain and adding some native NC plants and 2 trees. Grateful to be part of the Blackbaud community!2 -

I am the Database Coordinator for Mission:Dignity a ministry of GuideStone Financial Resources, and live in the Dallas TX area. I was introduced to Raiser's Edge in 2009 at a previous organization, and then introduced to RENXT in 2017 at a different organization. I currently serve as the Chaplain for my son's Scouts BSA Troop and enjoy camping, hiking, and being outdoors.1 -
@Crystal Bruce Interesting that you asked about RE NXT use but everyone that I've seen is referencing RE database version. I've been the Donations Accountant at a private school for 31 years and used RE database for all that time. I'm always open to learning new things, as we started out in a DOS platform and then transitioned to Windows…that was a rough transition technology-wise. We were basically down for 3 months. I have loved all the capabilities of RE database. I tried to see all the possibilities of NXT but I do not think NXT was well planned out, or maybe it wasn't communicated that it is for a different perspective of looking at information in RE. NXT would be good on a call to solicit a donation because it is a web-based view. I wonder why everything is geared to RE NXT from BB these days. The database version is a far better platform to do day-to-day tasks, in my opinion. NXT is good for lighter users that only look up people and post notes on people. I can see a place for both, but I think the heavy users would most likely be in the database version. More than you probably asked for, but these are just my opinions, and luckily my supervisor agrees with me. Love having this forum to see other points of view and challenges that people face.

I handle gift processing and database management at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, TN (Nashville). I have been using RE database version for 10 years. I agree with @Becky Jones regarding NXT. I have tried NXT, but database is much better for my tasks. Looking forward to RETIREMENT and am preparing for that in May 2024!!0 -

I was previously in the library & information services field for 25+ years, primarily cataloging and database administration. I'm enjoying learning RENXT, RE database, and the nonprofit world in general.

@Crystal Bruce Hello! I am the Senior Director of Advancement Operation at Biola University in La Mirada, CA. I have been in my current role for 3 months and have been with the university for 3 years and an RE user for over 15 years. When I am not running queries and reviewing opportunities in RENXT, I like to volunteer with the local “Women Build” group at Habitat For Humanity. Who knew using a Meiter Saw would be so much fun?!?!?!
