2022 Year End FE7 patch upgrade required or not for self-hosted?

Do you know if the 2022 Year End FE7 patch upgrade is required or not for self-hosted currently running Patch 43? We've had to execute year end upgrades every year since 2014 on FE7, but this year it is less clear. We're hoping to not have to upgrade in early Jan to successfully process 1099s in FE7 with Aatrix and continue with healthy FE7 Patch 43 processes.

Some conflicting info we have from BB Support so far is below…

• From BB KB - https://kb.blackbaud.com/knowledgebase/articles/Article/41560 - When will the end-of-year patch update with tax form updates be released for Financial Edge?
  • “…The end of year update for 2022 will not require a patch release for Financial Edge NXT or Financial Edge. All 1099 form updates will be provided by our partner Aatrix….”
• From Blackbaud Support Case #019151578 as follow up to Case # 019103029

    • Year end patch number will be 49.
    • Organizations hosted by Blackbaud will have the year patch released in mid December, if everything goes according to plan locally hosted environments will have the patch available for early January (these are not yet 100% confirmed, please note).

    • NOTE - BB discontinued release notifications in 2019
    • Recommendation - search on "patch 2022" in KB and Community now through 12/31, and some day, TBD, before or on 12/31, BB will publish info that will be returned on those searches that will be definitive

Are other FE7 self-hosted customers planning to upgrade to Patch 48 at year end or planning to not execute a year end Patch upgrade to FE7 this year?
