Essential Functions of the Position:
The Data Services Manager is responsible for the SPCA of Texas’ Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge database (currently 300,000+ records), as well as integration of Raiser’s Edge with the organization’s financial, shelter inventory, volunteer, case management and veterinary databases. The Data Services Manager will be in charge of developing, implementing and training staff on proper procedures and ensure consistency and accuracy of data within Raiser’s Edge. The manager will also manage regular data audits and will be involved in the strategic planning related the organization’s databases. The manager will be critical to helping the SPCA of Texas harness the full power of the data found in each of the organizations’ databases through segmentation and integration of data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage the Raiser’s Edge database, including maintenance, user accounts and security, gift entry, reporting, queries, and data cleanup with the goal of providing current, consistent, and accurate data.
• Develop, implement, maintain and train others on standard operating policies and procedures for ensuring the integrity of the Raiser’s Edge database, including, but not limited to, data entry, gift entry, reporting, prospect management and prospect research.
• Maintain industry best practices for data management
• Serve as primary liaison to database provider(s), i.e. Blackbaud.
• Actively oversee all aspects of gift and pledge entry, including but not limited to batches, posting, reconciliation, and pledge reminders.
• Work closely with the Annual Funds Manager to ensure accurate and timely gift receipting processes.
• Generate mailing and suppression lists for direct mail, special events and fundraising campaigns, regularly performing NCOA updates.
• Reconcile and close monthly development financials on time. Ensure all income reports tie back to accounting.
• Lead prospect research process.
• Develop, run and review regular data audits to ensure accuracy, including but not limited to including queries on proper addressee/salutations, acknowledgements, past due reports and duplicate constituent reports.
• Collaborate with finance staff to generate ongoing and periodic financial reports as requested.
• Collaborate with internal colleagues to develop and implement an integrated dashboard (combining data from development, financial, shelter, and veterinary databases) for the SPCA of Texas leadership.
• Proactively identify opportunities for systems and workflow improvements, recognize potential problems, and provide recommendations for solutions.
• Assist with projects and events as needed.

Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
• 5 years of database management experience, bachelor degree required.
• Mastery of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge 7.0 and NXT, certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge.
• Experience in multi-directional data integration.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI).
• Must be accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers, volunteers, board members, and the general public.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Work well under pressure with a diverse task load with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS
• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
