More Than One Preferred Address

I came upon a record where the person has two preferred addresses which I understand is a violation of the rule of only being permitted one. Has anyone come across this issue or knows why it happens? The Knowlegdgebase article on this (KB 57724) suggests a long-winded solution that involves submitting a Backup Authorization Form. Background: our addresses are synced to RE7 from an in-house database through an API. Any advice is much appreciated!

to fix this, create a new address (or use another address that is not preferred, mark it as preferred (which will remove the preferred checkbox on both). Then go back to the one you truly want to mark as preferred, and check the preferred checkbox.

this is in database view, may work in webview in the same manner

This is good to know! I've only come across it once, and it was an organization leaving RE for another product, so we didn't look for a long-term fix.

Kata - Not sure how the data syncs, but make sure you aren't disrupting any links to specific addresses by doing this. I would check with someone who can investigate the details of the API to confirm.
