Campus is another time zone

Hi,

So we have a “sister” campus in Madrid Spain, and they wanted to start taking attendance using Blackbaud. There are several questions that come to mind with thinking about this.

  1. Is it possible to take attendance for an academic class not assigned to an academic block.
  2. If a class needs to have a block attached, any ideas on how to create that schedule separately from the one created for the Main Campus
  3. We currently have “Vermont Academy” and “Entire School” showing for our “School Levels”, Could I create their schedule in “Entire School” so that it won't get confused with our Main Campus “Vermont Academy”

Thank you in advance for any help and insight this .

  • @Jeff Gaudet We have a similar setup: we have 12 campuses in NC and VA (EST) and a single campus outside Nashville (CST) that is in its own database. You will likely need to add a second database with a separate URL. Even if you added a second campus to your existing database (which can be done), all of the times would be off by 5-6 hours and there's no way to correct for it because each database can only handle a single time zone.

Your customer success rep can provide more information, but it will definitely be an extra expense because it is functionally a completely separate EMS database, almost like it's a separate school. There are some things that can be affiliated together (Tuition Management, for example, can be set up to flip between site IDs), but Core will be separate for each campus and they do not overlap - anyone who needs access to both will need an account for each.
