Rubric Access Change: Are we the only ones?

I am curious: are there other schools recently affected by last week's “fix” to exclusively link student access to rubrics evaluations on the assignment detail to grade book access? Customer support tells me no one else is complaining, but I find that hard to believe.

Previously, and thankfully, students could view their rubric evaluations and comments despite not having access to their grade book grades. The fact that this change also happened mid-year is also hugely frustrating, and seemingly without any communication of the change.

I am further curious if we are now in the minority of schools that prohibit grade book access to students (and parents).

Thanks in advance for your replies.

  • @Alexander Taft YES! Thank you, my goodness, this has been really frustrating for us and so far support has not been able to resolve or even identify the problem. So glad you named it, I will put a note in our support case. Yes, we limit access to gradebook grades and some teachers were relying heavily on the rubric evaluation to provide that feedback to students. Weirdly, even the comments in the rubric are now hidden, even though we have comment access set to “always show." Looking forward to an update.
