Current Parent unable to See Course Requests because they have "past student" role themselves.

Please vote on this idea. We have an issue where any of our Current Parents who attended our School at one point but did not graduate, are unable to see their Current Student's Course Request. Support says this is because they have the "past student" role themselves which prevents them from seeing Course Request or in our case the name of the role is "withdrawn student". Support suggested we give these people the “alumni” role and make a note that they didn't graduate or create a duplicate user for the Parent. This makes no sense. Help by voting!!

  • @Josceline Reardon I Voted. We don't have this scenario at this time, but I'm sure at some point we will. I assume parents who are past students can sign contracts, see report cards and transcripts, etc. They should have all the parental rights other parents have, including visibility of course requests.

  • @Nancy Kierstead thank you! Yes it makes no sense. I just happened to see a case that our Registrar put in and when I looked through and saw Support told her to remove the “withdrawn student” role, I was like what the…? We can't just remove roles. Roles pull to different areas and different systems. So I started my own case referring to this issue and haven't gotten anywhere, except that we could create another profile for the parent to login (but you can't have mulitple logins with BBID) or give them the alumni role by enrolling them, etc…. I ran a user list and we have 20 current parents who are also withdrawn students.

  • I voted as well.

We will ALSO run into this…..
