Still redirecting to onmessage.whipplehillsites.com?

I realized that our public facing page was still bouncing through onmessage.whipplehillsites.com the other day when my firewall decided to start blocking that domain. Aren't we past Whipple Hill and OnMessage? Also in case anyone else uses Fortigate watch out as that domain is now potentially blocked.

    Hi Brian,

onmessage.whipplehillsites.com is still a legit address. This was our legacy URL to point DNS settings at and we have since updated to a new address but this domain is still active. When I did a dig on the CNAME set for www.fasps.org I found the DNS settings were still set using the old domain so you may not want to keep that block in place. You can find the updated server address in our KB if you'd like to switch.

  • Do I need to update the DNS settings to the new server? Has this been communicated to sites like mine that the other address is now legacy?

It is not necessary at this time to migrate your DNS settings unless there is an issue you need to get around. There is no end of life date set for that CNAME address. I am unsure why your firewall started blocking the domain but I just wanted to give you an alternative option.

When new sites are created, we have the new URL listed in our knowledge base article but have no immediate plans to discontinue use of the other.
