Limiting Course Re-Takes in Online Course Requests

I don't believe there is a way to automatically set a limit on course re-takes that is set at the course level. Is that correct?

    Hi @Jennifer Welch!

There currently is not a way to set this. We are actually about to start discovery for a project for course retake and if you are interested, I'd love to reach out to learn more about how you approach course retake at your school! If you are interested, let me know and I can reach out directly to schedule some time to talk.

  • @Jacqueline Koca that sounds great. I am helping to implement our new instance of BB SIS so I am not as familiar with course re-take but will find out. Feel free to reach out. Thanks!

  • @Jacqueline Koca Do you know where/who we could find more information regarding the course retake tab within department and courses? Does it impact course requests, scheduling, diploma credits? Or it is only a data point currently?

    Hi @Rachel Culley!

We're working on getting together a resource, but the quick information is that the setting on the course will impact Course Requests and what courses show there as available for students to request. We also made sure on the Admin side that users will see if a course has been taken before if manually scheduling a student.

Diplomas will now automatically show retaken courses where credit was received regardless of the setting on the course. This will allow scenarios such as take-as-many-times-as-you-want electives to be supported, as well as allow for various scenarios of core courses that may be retaken for various reasons (failure, improve grade, etc).

Grading has some additional improvements which can be found in the most recent What's New post.

    Thank you!
