BBGM API Feedback Session next week at bbdevdays

The obvious ones first:

• Ability to retrieve full records including custom fields for all core record types plus Tables_Master, Tables, Codes, all CustomForm… tables, Letter Lib, Header_Details, Review_Rules, Review_Stages, ReviewerCommittee
• All date fields to be available as endpoints for queries but especially Create_Date and Change_Date

Payments are a critical area for post and update

• Create Payments
• Create Refunds
• Update Paid Status
• Update Payment Amount (including Amend Grant Amount)
• Update Payee
• Create Document records for payments (for invoices) with attachments

Organizations and Contacts Post and Update including Address and Affiliations

Request and Contact Custom Field updates are important for our medical research foundations who need to add a lot of supplementary data from other sources such as ORCID.

Key endpoints for Update in Organisations include Name and Legal Name, TaxID, Tax_Status

I would like emails generated in BBGM to be saved as drafts in Outlook Express. A fuller integration with Microsoft Outlook and BBGM is ideal.

There are some great ideas already posted here and I “second the motion” on all of them.

A few more I might add:

In addition to MS Outlook and PowerBI, I would like to see integration to all of the Power Platform tools, especially Power Automate (Cloud flows, no Desktop) and Power Apps. Also, MS Teams and SharePoint.

For Outlook, easily synch to and from Outlook and Blackbaud contacts. Have contact changes on Outlook/iOS/Android auto update contacts in BBGM and vice versa. Quick save email threads to org history. Perform org updates (new officers, etc.) from Outlook.

Integration into online photo storage service to support a solution where staff member can upload grantee event photos while at an event. Usa API to get Org, Request, etc. to tag photos. Maybe even creating Albums for Orgs for ongoing and future events, 2023 Ball, 2024 Ball and save link to album as an Org hyperlink field.

API for ACH payment processing (and Bill.com)

On the go grant histories for times multiple orgs are at an event and staff members wants to quickly pull a history for someone their talking to or about to run into. Download Giving History Reports to phone or paste into a calendar appt.

Map/Directions for a grantee's address. Send to phone for map guidance.

An easy-to-follow tutorial walking someone on how to use the API in real-world useful way. For example, a MS Outlook, “New Grantee Meeting” tool that creates a meeting in Outlook with attendees selected from Org, Contact(s), and Request(s). Tool populates the email addresses for all selected. Email saved to the Orgs/Request's docs.

@Brenda Noiseux official connectors would be so much easier for citizen developers to implement solutions. So that would be my vote, but any access to BBGM data with Power Platform would be extremely welcomed.
