What Grantmaking topics are you watching?

Hi Blackbaud Grantmaking Community! I’m the Content Marketing Manager for Grantmaking, and we’re getting started on our content planning for 2024. We want to dig into the topics you find most interesting for the blog posts, white papers, and guides we produce next year.

Here are some themes we’ve been watching. Which ones are top of mind for you? Anything we missed?

  • Adjusting your grantmaking when general charitable donations are down
  • Application best practices and lowering the burden for applicants while also getting the information you need to make informed decisions
  • Advancements in technology, such as AI and integrations, and how they might affect your grantmaking
  • Best practices for incorporating trust-based philanthropy principles/multi-year unrestricted gifts
  • Making data-driven decisions/data health
  • Providing more transparency into your grantmaking to your stakeholders and grantees
  • Incorporating more community participation and voice into your grantmaking decisions
  • Staffing and employee wellness
  • Evaluating applications and performing due diligence
  • Using your grantmaking tools more effectively: GMS, CRM, fund accounting
  • Best practices for being an intermediary for government and other large grants
  • Data security and fraud protection

(I'll have a question for you next week about topics related to issues affecting your grantees.)

Those are great Carrie and thank you! Regarding using grantmaking more effectively, I would like to see how to run a report and drop it into excel without lots of clean up.
