Adding GTM codes

We're working with a marketing consultant who asked if it were possible to add GTM codes on the Blackbaud-generated URLs that we use for our class and events. I know I can set them up as a user with a broad range of access, but I don't know if adding GTM codes is possible.

  • @Sandee Buckley I'm also interested in this. Subscribed. I haven't gotten a direct answer to this question, but I believe some people have figured it out. I think there's hope!

  • @emi I did get this answer when I went through the chat:

How to add Google Analytics to Altru site

Can I use Google Analytics with my Altru website? Can I use Google Tag Manager or Google AdWords?

    Answer:

Google Analytics has been tested with Altru websites and confirmed that this is able to be added to track website traffic. To add Google Analytics code to your Altru website:

    1. Set up your Google Analytics account, and get the code provided by Google to add to your website. This JavaScript should be copied and pasted directly into Altru. Do not make any edits to the code, and make sure that the entire script is included.

Note: Support cannot assist with creating a third-party account. However, when setting up your Google Analytics account, you should use your Altru Webforms base URL: It will look similar to: https://XXXX.blackbaudhosting.com/XXXX or https://sXXaalt01web01.sky.blackbaud.com/XXXX/webui/webshellpage.aspx?databasename=XXXXXXXXXX

    1. Log in to Altru
    2. Click Web tab > Click Page Designer
    3. Click Next until you are on the Configure Content tab
    4. Click the gear icon at the top of the page for the header
    5. Click the View tab > Click the HTML Code button
    6. Press Enter at the bottom of the window, and paste the code from Google in its entirety into Altru
    7. Click Update
    8. Click Save
    9. Click Submit
