Batch Upload Interactions

Hello,

I would like to batch upload into Documents and Interactions. Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, which Batch Template to use? We would like to upload personal interactions - in this case, it is personal notes on communications, but in the future, it could be phone calls or emails sent.

Thanks,

Tamara

  • Hi @Tamara Christensen, we don't have a way to batch upload documents today, but I would wonder how you would do that? How would you envision providing the attachments? Where would those attachments be coming from, the user's PC or some network location? We'd love to incorporate your feedback into our product research repository.

    Hi David,

We were thinking more about the interactions part rather than the documents. For example, when board members write personal notes (or send emails or make phone calls) to donors, we would like to add that to interactions, but if we have hundreds of them, we don't want to do it manually.

    Thanks,

    Tamara

  • @Tamara Christensen It's not batch but you can add interactions through Global Change. So if you need to enter the same interaction on multiple records, it might work for you.

  • @Kelly Olson Thank you, Kelly! I will try it. This is weird - I've been using Altru for over 7 years and have never used Global Change. I am going to go play now! - Tamara

  • @Tamara Christensen There is a constituent interaction batch template in Altru - I've used this in the past with an import process from a spreadsheet and it worked pretty well. This works well for more personalized interactions that you want to upload in bulk, but getting the import process set up can be a little work initially.

  • @Ruth Droescher I have a wonky setup issue. Did you ever get the errors: No results for field "Participant" using search list "Constituent Search" were found. Please enter a valid 'Contact method'.

  • @Amanda Bjorklund the participant mapping is looking for either a record id (GUID) or Lookup ID. I was able to get it to work using the mapping of Lookup ID = Participant.

For contact method, it might be an issue with your 'Set options' settings - if you're importing a text field in your process you probably need to update the ‘Other’ tab settings, and have the code table fields match using the translation.
