Annual Statement Letters for donors?

Hi, All!

If there are already threads about this, I'd appreciate being directed to those!

Otherwise, I need to send Annual Statement letters to certain donors, with their Total Giving, and the (receipt) amount of tax-deductible giving.

I've followed a couple of KB articles, but the output shows more than just last calendar year giving (the SUM Revenue Amount is off by THOUSANDS), and Membership Benefits are subtracted in the actual statments (run under Revenue), but not form the Revenue in the query output.

How do you all do these?

  • @Elizabeth Shafer I'm not sure if this helps, but I use Smart Fields to pull those reports. I have a Smart Field for 2023 donations, then I pull the report on that Smart Field.

    I tried a Constituent Revenue Amount Smart field, but got numbers that didn't resonate with anything else – I do wonder if I set it too broadly.

    I settled (so far) on the KB article about sending letters, and the query for that, but am using a spreadsheet for a merge, so I can spot-check and update any odd amounts.

    Can you tell me which Smart Field you use?

    I knew how to do this in Raiser's Edge, but Altru is “just” different enough to make it nearly impossible! ?

  • @Elizabeth Shafer It is the Constituent Revenue Amount. We only check Donation and Recurring Gifts. If you have more selected, it might give different amounts.
