Using SKY API Examples Pages
Hello, I'm just getting started using the SKY API. I believe my subscription should be sorted out already. Before even attempting to build an application I am trying to use the 'Try It" button at say the following page (whatever ID after services removed for privacy):
When clicking Send after entering a bank account number I get a 401 “The required Authorization header was missing or invalid, or the token has expired”
What do I need to do to get this working?
I tried adding both of the following as applications, I believe my supervisor needs to approve them or something first, but I'm not even sure this is a necessary step for the built in examples.
and
Additionally when I try to change the toggle for Blackbaud OAuth 2.0 Service I get a popup that says “You don’t have access to any SKY API enabled Blackbaud products.”
Please help. Thanks,
Thom

Hi! Are you working with an organization that has access to a Blackbaud product?
If so, an admin in that organization needs to connect the SKY API Console application to the product (instructions here). Then, the “Try it” functionality will have access to the same data that you (the consenting user) have access to, so you may need your organization's admin to give you access to perform whatever actions you need in the actual product.
If you aren't currently working with an organization that has access to a Blackbaud product, we have some Developer Cohort environments that you can request access to. There's a link here to send us an email to request access to those environments.
Does that help?

@Tim McVicker Thanks I was able to get the samples pages working using some of the info you provided and I am now a full admin (I believe).
Q1) In order to use the samples page I keep needing to change the OAuth Services to AUthorization Code and i get a popup window each time where i need to click Authorize which only lasts for 1 hour. Is there no way to make this permanent?
Q2) I am a developer within the company that has their data hosted with you. I am attempting to write a web service to consume that data. I was able to get some of the sample code working, however I got this to work by adding to the header of the request to the SkyAPI the Auth Code value found for the Bearer, highlighted in the screenshot below (which changes with each request/authorization). Am I able to somehow permanently authorize my local development code? I am not sure how to add it as an application because the URL when i run my code locally when developing in Visual Studio is https://localhost:44351/api/skyapi. Can you provide some guidance here please?
