Users randomly losing access to Add-ins

Has anyone ever experienced a situation, when a user, who in the past had access to SKY Add-ins, suddenly stopped seeing them?

We have an app that we use to manage about 10 custom tiles pulling additional information from our local data warehouse and displaying it mostly on Constituent Dashboard. The app is managed on the organization level, so once installed for the organization, anyone should be able to have it. It looks however, like every now and then, some user stops seeing ANY Add-ins managed by the app at all. One of the Add-ins actually logs the access to constituent records, so I can see that this particular user was able to see the Add-ins in the past, but his current activity is not logging at all, which explains why they're not seeing any custom tiles. Meanwhile for everyone else the system works as intended, showing the custom tiles and logging the activity.

Any idea what could be causing it? When I go to security options, I can see that user being part of the organization, but it's like his NXT is disconnected from the app.

  • @Szymon Zaleski I'm sorry you are having issues with the add-in tiles displaying. We would likely need a support case to get the details needed to solve this issue.

  • @Daniel Leonard we have a case open (018949316)

Curiously, another user had the same problem and here's what I heard from them.
So my PF tiles were not visible so even after refreshing page and clearing chrome cache multiple times so I reset my password and it works perfectly again. Any thoughts on how a password reset clears better than actual cache clearing?

It would indicate that it's not really a browser issue, as the Support suggests. From my observations, it does not affect users, who regularly use NXT, but those who haven't used it in a while. I don't know if there is some kind of disconnect between the user and the organization (since the apps are managed on the organizational level), but for users who can't see the add-ins, the other apps connected to the environment don't work either.

Problem solved. Turns out the users, who couldn't see the add-ins were disconnecting from VPN and the SPAs are sitting on a server protected from the outside access for security reasons.
