Follow-Up from "Work Smarter With Workflow Designer" Customer Success Webinar
Hi everyone! Customer Success hosted a webinar today called “Work Smarter With Workflow Designer” and a bunch of people had questions about the concept of First Active Fundraiser and how it's calculated.
The short version is, the soonest assignment date wins. But if you have a mix of assigned fundraisers and some have dates and some don't, the ones with blank dates are considered first. Here is a KB that goes into detail: Who is the First active fundraiser when adding actions in Raiser's Edge NXT Workflow Designer?
To this end, we definitely recommend that you put start dates on all your fundraiser assignments, even if they are perpetual, so you can use this functionality in Workflows. To those who came to the webinar today, thanks for coming and asking this question! To those who are curious, you can click on the link above and get the webinar on-demand if you missed us today!

@Vered Siegel Could you please consider the option of selecting a specific fundraiser type?

That field would make workflows 1000x more useful. Great suggestion!

That's a great suggestion! I would recommend putting it in the Idea Bank right away - and anyone reading this that agrees, please vote it up!

I wanted to follow up with a particularly clever tip one of the webinar attendees shared during our run of this webinar -
One of the limitations to Workflows is that the first step in a Workflow has to happen in “real time,” as in, you can't schedule it. But you can schedule all subsequent steps. @Vicki Brunt of Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group in the UK suggested that you create your Workflows such that the first step is always an Action of We added this constituent to a Workflow. That way, the first one can happen in “real time” as just adding them to the flow, and then all subsequent steps can be scheduled like you would want to. A+ strategy, I just wanted to recognize it here so others could benefit.

Thanks for updating with the number! I'm sure many will want to vote on this one @Marie Stark.
