Email Workflow: Do you add an Action or only use Email History/Email Marketing Metrics

I am setting up our first email workflows in NXT and am looking for some feedback. Yay!

Today we use Constant Contact and when I send an email from that system I add an email action in RE NXT to capture that on each record. Our leadership team wants us to count every touch in our reporting.

Having sent a workflow email, I see that my RE NXT marketing emails are only tracked in email marketing and not reflected in the Action Report in the Fundraising section.

Question? Do you add an action to your email workflows in addition to the Email History on the individual record + the sent email metrics in the Marketing section?

  • I personally prefer adding the action to the workflows! Email metrics are great but at the end of the day I want to be able to report on everything so I'd want emails to be entered as actions. Even with Importacular, iirc actions are not part of the integration or data mapping, so you'd want to do as you described and add the action as part of the workflow.
