CSVs in Power Automate

Hello all - I am using Queue to run scheduled data pulls and export the data to our SFTP. I have then set up a Power Automate flow to move the data to OneDrive so I can use it in PowerBI. Everything works seamlessly except one thing….I am including a Notes field and have noticed apostrophes and hyphens are showing up in strange ways.

I downloaded the file from my SFTP hosted file and the info is stored correctly. I took a look at my flow run report and I downloaded the data that it is pulling when it “looks” at SFTP and I see the characters are changed already. SOOO something is up with how Power Automate is reading the CSV files in the hosted environment. Does anyone have any ideas?

Would you like to ask your question to the User group on 3/21? Did you figure out a remedy?

  • @Heather McLean
Sure! I have not found a solution yet. Hope the group can help me out!

Just wanted to follow up here because as @Matt Thacker said in the meeting, we probably didn't get the right combination of expressions to solve your problem. Let us know what happened when you ran your flow, and if you're still seeing the same character issues.

@Matt Costantino Following up after yesterday's meeting. Did it help to change your Export file so that you're using the RTF Formatted Notes field instead of Notes? Like Nicole, I too have used this when I needed to maintain the formatting for Crystal Reports. Hope it worked out.
