Top Five From 2017

What a year! 2017 has flown by, but here at Blackbaud we’ve certainly accomplished a lot. As 2017 counts down to 2018, let’s take time to reflect on some of this year’s Raiser’s Edge NXT highlights. Here are what I consider to be the top five:
1. Home page for Raiser’s Edge NXT – The Home page seems like it’s always been there, right? However, it was only released at the beginning of 2017! How did we survive without it? I love the streaming feed of What’s New, Webinars, Training opportunities, and options to add a constituent or open a recently accessed record. The Home page makes daily tasks much easier.
2. Microsoft Outlook integration – When I’m not in the Raiser’s Edge database, I am in my email inbox. Luckily, Raiser’s Edge NXT for Outlook allows me to be in both programs at once! This add-in allows me to view details about a constituent, and add actions as I need to. This is a huge time-saver!
3. Filters – Lists can be customized by a long list of filters, and that list continues to grow. This year we have added the functionality to filter by additional fields. One of my favorites? The location filter. We can now add a location filter to lists by drawing a custom shape or rectangle on a map. Rather than entering ZIP Codes or cities one-by-one, I can draw a shape on a map and view prospects in that area!
4. Two-step authentication – With easy access to your database comes a need for heightened security. Thank goodness for two-step authentication. Raiser’s Edge NXT can be accessed anywhere with internet access. Two-step authentication was released to add an extra layer of security.
5. Add Constituent and Relationship records – This speaks for itself. Major functionality is being added at a rapid pace. We now can add constituents and relationships right from web view. Get excited for the ability to add gifts in 2018. This is a game-changer for on-the-go fundraising.
Phew! Like I said, what a year! As the ball drops on December 31, we have a lot to be thankful for in 2017 — and a lot to be excited for in 2018. Are you ready for the new year?
