What's New: Raiser's Edge NXT For Gmail Add-on!

To help manage and track email interactions, you can now install the new Raiser's Edge NXT for Gmail add-on to view constituent information and add actions directly in Google Gmail!df905524ba66e132b7d8ab026fe27763-huge-gmFrom an email message in your Gmail inbox, you can:
  • Quickly review details from the constituent record of the sender or recipient, including their name, contact information, and recent giving.
  • Automatically add the email interaction as an action on the constituent's record, complete with what was said and when.
Admins! To enable others at your organization to install the add-on, from Control Panel, Applications, browse to Raiser's Edge NXT for Gmail under Available apps, and select Connect. Once enabled, users at your organization can then install the add-on through the G Suite Marketplace.

    Hi.  We will be going live on NXT in August and we use gmail here at our institution.  I would love to install this addon from gmail, but am concerned about security risks.  Do you have any information you can offer about the security of this product?  Seems risky to be able to see a constituent's giving information in a email.

    Hey Jill! A couple of things to be aware of on the security front:

    1) As with other available applications, an admin at your organization has to enable the add-on for use with your database. If someone at your organization downloads the add-on from G Suite, the admin would still need to give their blessing for it to interact with your constituent data.

    2) When someone uses the add-on, they sign in with their Blackbaud ID. This enables the add-on to secure constituent data with the same rights applied in the database view. In short, if someone can't view a constituent in Raiser's Edge NXT based on security settings — such as by constituent code — then they can't view that constituent's data in the add-on either.

    Is there a way to make this function available while writing an email? The only way to add all the information from the email is to go back into the Sent folder and open up the email to add an Action into the constituent record.
