Foundation Executive Director - Corning Community College (NY)

This senior staff position provides leadership for the CCC Development Foundation including the planning, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive resource/asset development program (including gifts, donations, annual and comprehensive campaigns, alumni program, sponsorships and events). Manages the Foundation’s resources to ensure that CCC is a conduit for regional, national, and international philanthropic investment and an instrument to achieve the College’s strategic vision.

Essential Functions:

Fundraising and Strategic Planning (60%)

  • Lead the external relations required to cultivate and maintain individual and organizational donors along with the public and private partners necessary to develop strong support.
  • Direct all fundraising activities, including the Annual Fund, comprehensive campaigns, Planned Giving Program, major gifts, capital projects, named funds, specialized campaigns and other priorities established by the College; providing metrics by which progress is tracked and goal attainment assessed.
  • Collaborate with College Communications Department to generate digital and print resource development communications.
  • Develop and implement the Foundation’s Annual Resource Development Plan, with metrics as approved by the Regional Board of Trustees and the CCC Development Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Develop, implement and oversee cultivation activities, including special events, alumni outreach, scholarship initiation/monitoring/communication, donor stewardship, donor acknowledgement, and donor recognition programs.
  • Plan and execute the Foundation’s private grants program by researching funding opportunities, preparing grant applications, managing documents and deadlines, and tracking progress and results.
  • Develop the Development Foundations’ Strategic Business Plan including annual goals in alignment with the College’s strategic initiatives and in conjunction with Board Directors, as appropriate.
  • Produce results driven outcomes related to the Strategic Business Plan, annual Department goals and comprehensive campaigns.

Administration and Leadership (30%)

  • Oversee administrative functions related to donor, alumni and community relations, such as prospect identification and research, donor and alumni database management.
  • Serve as liaison between the College and the Development Foundation regularly communicating College plans and activities and collaboratively developing the CCCDF’s role in their success.
  • Coordinate financial activities with the CCC Housing Company, LLC.
  • Assure that the organization complies with all relevant statutes and regulations related to the operation of a non-profit organization.
  • Facilitate board and committee management and relations including recruitment, onboarding, and training.
  • Supervise departmental staff.
  • Administer the departmental budget.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Institutional Advancement (10%)

  • Raise awareness of and cultivate support for the College’s regional economic impact through data informed communications.
  • Direct the cultivation and recruitment of key volunteers/ambassadors to market/sell the value of CCC to the Southern Tier Region while supporting annual and comprehensive campaigns.
  • Oversee the College’s Alumni Program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience or master's degree with five years of relevant experience in institutional advancement, fundraising or a similar area; or an equivalent combination of both education and experience
  • Demonstrated ability to advance annual drives, fulfill major gifts, secure planned gifts, succeed with capital campaigns and private/public sponsorships
