Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Prospect Researcher on the Dahlonega campus. This position is key to the development of a donor pipeline for support of the University. The Prospect Research & Management Specialist identifies, evaluates, and analyzes information about prospects and donors and provides leadership of the major gift prospect management meeting; manages prospect selection and assignments; collaborates with fundraisers and provides research reports, briefings and data mining services. In addition, this position will create and implement procedures for prospect management, set priorities, conduct and verify prospect research, analyze and evaluate data, assist with portfolio assignments, and assist with annual financial forecasting. This position will also be responsible for extensive reporting to management.
Responsibilities
- Provides high-level research on individuals, corporations, and foundations using a wide variety of resources, including state-of ¿the-art online database services. Analyzes and organize accumulated information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, engagement/affinity, and giving propensity to compose documents that communicate key information to Advancement leadership in order to direct cultivation and solicitation strategies. Interpret results and provide direction on the segmentation and management of large groups of prospects and donors identified through the electronic screening process. Provides investigative and analytical support for special and/or urgent requests for VP or President visits, alumni constituent gatherings and development officer donor visits.
- Manages Development Officer portfolios by monitoring and guiding their progress throughout the prospect fundraising cycle: Qualification, Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship. Maintains portfolio data in a complex database system. Effectively manage prospect assignments by providing insights for prospects strategy through ongoing portfolio and pipeline analyses and consultations with development officers and Advancement leadership.
- Provides leadership for monthly prospect management team meetings, which include the VP for Advancement and development team. Provides analysis and interpretation of prospect and donor information and facilitate communication regarding prospects to meet fundraising goals and maximize potential giving. Provides a strategic assessment of prospect and donor behavior and trends to inform decision-making.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly management reports, tracking prospects, suspects, donors, and actions for the VP of Advancement. This process involves working with the development team to ensure information is gathered and entered into the database system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develops, documents and manages processes and procedures for donor research and moves management in accordance with CASE, APRA, and advancement best practices. Insures that all processes maintain donor confidentiality.
- Other duties as requested by Director of Advancement Services.

- Must maintain confidentiality, be detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office and work with multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.
- The incumbent must possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills imperative as this position interacts with both internal and external constituents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in prospect research, data analysis, development, business administration, higher education, and/or project management.
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office (Access, Word, Excel, Outlook), and basic use of office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ResearchPoint, Raiser's Edge, Wealth Engine, and Lexis Nexis preferred.
- Reeher/Fundraiser Performance Management experience a plus.
