Changing Due Dates

Good morning. We have recently implemented Tuition Management and I wanted to confirm what we have been told. Our prior tuition management system (FACTS) provided a lot of flexibility in changing due dates, payment frequency, and recasting a tuition payment schedule on a family by family basis. It sucked…but our parents became accustomed to this level of flexibility. It is our understanding, that Tuition Management is less flexible, insofar as we cannot create a customized payment schedule for each family (e.g. payment due dates change monthly).

I don't know if I want to know of a work around…but I know that once our community begins to realize this, I am assuming that there will be some grumbling. So, I want to be prepared…and I don't want to be surprised when someone shows up saying … “Oh, well such and such a school is able to make a customized payment plan for our family, why can't you.”

Thank you!

  • @Mike Gaffney I can confirm that due dates through TM are rigid. Families on auto-pay are due on the 20th and families who elect mail-in are due the 30th. The school I worked at didn't strongly enforce these dates (i.e.. we didn't utilize the follow up service through TM). Instead we contacted families individually if they fell behind.

I had the same concerns as you when we first began using TM. The first year was an adjustment for some of our families, but going into year two it was much smoother. As far as I know there is no work around to the firm due dates. The only solution we could provide to our families was extending the payment months, if needed, to better accommodate their cash flow.
