Work Hours: 40 hours/week, occasional evenings for events, in-office with hybrid possibility
Status: Temporary, 6-month position with potential for permanent hire

The Position
Washington Policy Center (WPC) is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Development Operations Coordinator to join our 5-person Development Team in Seattle. This full-time role supports our fundraising efforts by managing daily operations and helping ensure excellent donor stewardship.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development, the coordinator handles gift processing and acknowledgments, tax receipt generation, donor database management (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge), prospect research, and stewardship of new donors, members, and monthly givers. This position is focused solely on development and does not involve policy research.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to improve systems and contribute to team goals. Strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines, and 1–2 years of experience working with databases—preferably in a nonprofit setting—are essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Daily processing of donations and updating donor information, using WPC’s database, Raiser’s Edge NXT
- Manage acknowledgment letters and tax receipt process, working closely with the organization’s President and Assistant Vice President for Development to ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely manner
- Maintain the integrity of the database, update data, collection and input of information
- Assist with sponsor coordination and data entry for all events
- Maintain a supply of tools and gifts that the fund development team and leadership can use in their stewardship efforts
- Cleans up, consolidates and adds to existing files so that they are useful tools for staff and senior volunteers.
- Actively participates in donor strategy sessions
- Provides monthly prospect management reports and other ad hoc reports as assigned
- Prepare and maintain all fundraising dashboards and trackers
- Generate weekly reports on all gift activity with data that is useful and relevant
- Other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications:
- Understand and support our mission to promote free-market solutions through research and education in Washington state
- High level of organization, attention to detail and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time with success and accuracy
- Skilled with technology with the ability to quickly learn new programs
- Ability to interact accordingly with current and prospective donors in person, through email and over the phone
- Ability to clearly communicate with employees in different roles
- Must exhibit sound judgment in confidential donor matters
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
- Proficient writing skills
- Database experience preferred (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT ideal)
- Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years’ experience on a development team or similar field

Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)

- Health Insurance: 90% employer-paid health insurance (medical/dental/vision) for employees and 80% for dependents
